But until they do, I guess I’m stuck with having to carry extra pairs just so that I never miss a beat

That’s what happened when I was climbing Half Dome the other day. I hiked all day to get to the top of the peak and when I finally got to the top I realized that I didn’t charge my battery. I mean how lame was that; I mean who goes up to the top with their camera on and doesn’t have enough juice for one single shot of me at the top. That is the last time I go to the top with my Sony Camera Battery not charged. I need to at least carry a few sony cybershot battery type charging apparatuses. I mean I could bring my sony cybershot battery charger, but those are usually more expensive than I like to pay to loose you know. I am very forgetful and it’s easy for me to just leave things out and loose them. That’s what happened when I had my old Nikon SLR camera, I left it on a rock and didn’t realize it until I was 10 miles away from the spot that I lost it. I mean how lame was that to have those pictures accessed by some random person?

I always thought I would be happy living in LA, so I decided to just wing it and pack up my stuff and move out west

Most people think that the West if full of hippies and all this lameness, but in reality, people who live on the West coast are so much nicer and smarter than people who live inland. I feel that if you don’t live in California, Texas, or New York, you really don’t matter probably. You are just here in existence to live, otherwise you would say that the snow and all the boringness of life would be too much to bare. That’s why I decided to get out of my farm land and move to LA and try to be famous. I found some good Los Angeles movers and had them package all my stuff and put it in a truck and take it to my new apartment over looking the beach in Santa Monica. These LA movers where very professional and knew that my stuff was to be respected as if it was their stuff. The Los Angeles moving company did not break one item of mine and I think that’s because they only hired highly skilled people to get the job done.

How’s LA?

It’s horrible, don’t come out here .

For those who have read the news and don’t know whether to laugh or cry, it could be that a little bit of both is in order. A new budget report that has just been released indicates that the U.S. federal budget deficit – which does not include a massive number of promised payments for things like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. – will fall to “just” $ 1.1 trillion in the fiscal year that ends in September. For those counting at home, that deficit, though smaller than last year’s monstrosity, is in itself a disgrace.

The news is another among perhaps hundreds of thousands of other tidbits that indicate that the state of the United States is one of peril. It seems doubtful that anything meaningful will be done about this, of course, though there is at least lip service about what should be done. Noted House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, a Republican, “Four straight years of trillion-dollar deficits, no credible plan to lift the crushing burden of debt. The president and his party’s leaders have fallen short in their duty to tackle our generation’s most pressing fiscal and economic challenges.”

Indeed, Ryan’s Republicans have often failed just as much, having spent the past three decades – along with Democrats – destroying the nation’s financial situation with ill-conceived and wasteful spending programs. On the other side of the aisle, Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad has noted, “We will not solve this problem unless both sides, Democrats and Republicans, are willing to move off their fixed positions and find common ground. Republicans must be willing to put revenue on the table.”

Of course, “revenue” in this context is taxpayer money, something that has been spent all too easily and poorly over the past several years. When considering that the level of taxation in the U.S. is already too high – and that spending is likewise too high – the actual solution to the problem sounds quite simple. Of course, with over 50% of the country receiving some sort of payment from the federal government each month, it’s no wonder that trouble is ahead.

I’ve been working on this blog for a long time now and it’s just about time that I put in the effort to get this blog noticed

Most people I know who have successful blogs are ones who’ve had them since around 2005 when the interenet blog community was at the height of the gold rush, but now it’s not so easy to get noticed. It doesn’t just take persistance to get to the top..it take strategy and hard work and most of all determiniation to get there. You could try to get your blog to the top with just your own knowledge, but you have to think about it in another light, you need to have the winning strategy. For me the answer was simple, I just needed to find the right Advertising Agency to do the work for me. I like to write, but I don’t like to deal with marketing or publicity, therefore it is in my best interest to find someone skilled at the operation that i wish not to do and have them excel at it and make me noticed.

So how did I pick the advertising agency that I thought would benefit me the most?

That was an easy question to answer. I just looked at the portfolios that where available with the different companies. The one that sold me was this company that actually sends you a hard-copy of their portfolio for you to flip through at your leisure. It just added a bit of professionalism that is lacking in most places. That sold me.

The situation in Afghanistan is as complex and sensitive as it has ever been, including recent indications that the Taliban believes it will re-take the country as soon as NATO forces leave. Recent statements from US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and French President Nicolas Sarkozy suggest that both the United States and France would like to see combat operations in Afghanistan wind down ahead of schedule, perhaps as early as 2013. The idea would be to then have resources focused entirely on training and transitioning to an all-Afghan force, which would take over after 2014.

With Pakistan and its shadowy intelligence and military agencies lurking in the shadows, NATO and US military leaders are wary of what is likely to happen once a major military presence is no longer on the ground in Afghanistan. The country remains highly volatile and is still subject to terrorist bombings and attacks on official facilities and organizations.

Corruption is still rampant in the newly established Afghan government, although US officials have indicated that anti-corruption measures are being implemented across the board. The irony in US government officials attempting to stem corruption in a foreign government of their creation should not be lost on anyone.

NATO Defense Ministers are meeting in Brussels today to discuss the remaining work to be done in Afghanistan and exactly how the operation there will be scaled back and eventually ended. Because of the previously established timeline and the upcoming Presidential election, it’s likely that the Obama Administration is going to try to keep focus off Afghanistan between now and November.

Ever tried taking a toy from a child? What follows next is howling, screaming and crying. What does this have to do with teaching the art of sharing? Well, to answer that, let’s take a look at the psychology of a child. Psychologists all over the world have observed, that children aged 2-6 years, are generally over possessive about their surroundings. Though they inhibit these traits later in life and learn to be sensitive to others feelings, teaching a child the skill of living in harmony is the sole responsibility of the child’s parent, that’s you and your family. Children are good learners and the best part is that children can be molded to behave in a particular manner, especially if they are trained in the formative years of their growth. So to say, your job as a parent is not only to take care of the needs of the child, but also to teach them to adapt to the world at large. After all, teaching how to share is a smaller part of inculcating values that show them how to care for others that includes you as well.

Preschool Sharing Activities

Teaching a child how to share can be an intimidating task, but as a parent, it is your assumed duty to teach them nevertheless. The best way to go about teaching them to share is not through mere preaching but through deeds. Lest you forget, it is beneficial to allow your child to interact with others of his/her age. Apart from teaching your child at a personal level, your child will learn to live in a symbiotic existence with others even at a playschool/nursery. Given below are activities that will help your child learn sharing at the home front as well as at a group level.

Click on the images to get a better view.

Mirror Image

Yeah, you got this right! Whether you like it or not, the fact remains that children are your mirror image and blindly ape your actions. If your child observes you sharing things with others at home, he/she is likely to follow suit. Make it a habit to share food items and other things with your child. Remind your child time and again that by giving something from what is your share hasn’t taken away anything from you. In return, you can ask your child to share a biscuit or a piece of chocolate with you and remember to thank them. It helps to know that children pick up things very easily and this act of sharing something with them will ensure, they remember to share things with others too. Basically, you will have to explain the concept of sharing and how it helps strengthen bonds, and do not forget to support it with your actions.

Some Things are Better Shared

Well, I intend to say, rope in your older children, and treat the kids equally. Teaching one to share and be tolerant is equivalent to teaching all. Healthy interactions between siblings is vital for the child to learn tolerance and sharing. You would have to make your kids understand that the toys belong equally to each of them and by sharing, they are merely increasing the beauty of playing. For a child, his/her possessions are his/her world, it is best to instill in them the habit of asking permission from the other sibling when taking their things, and to return them with gratitude. Sharing toys, color pencils, books, food and other things will help your kids understand each other better. To enforce the habit of sharing, you might have to be ready to shower your kids with a lot of positive reinforcement.

Playmates

Isn’t it fun when you can learn while you play? Playtime is equivalent to interaction time, which means time for learning. The amount of time your child spends interacting with siblings, cousins and other children around him/her, is an indicative of how accommodating your child will be in the future. As parents, it is but natural for you to be possessive of your child, but hey, being over possessive will only harm your child. It is best to allow them to interact more with their age group, thus enhancing their adjustment and sharing ability. Rarely will you find children who have spent their childhood in the company of siblings to be possessive of their belongings. Needless to say, you won’t have to put in much effort to make your child comfortable in the company of others as your child will automatically gel with other children.

Family Time Activities

♦ Board Games: Games like ludo, chutes and ladders (snakes and ladders), pick-up sticks, etc., teach children the importance of turn taking.
♦ Solve a Puzzle: Perfect game for two or more, shuffle the puzzle pieces and distribute equally among the children. Let them solve it piece by piece.
♦ Building Bridges through Blocks: What better way to keep your kids engaged than to give them building blocks and asking them to make something creative.
♦ Color Me Right: Isn’t it unfair to give color pencils to one and color pens to another? Problem is solved when you ask them to exchange them between each other.
♦ Help Me Alright: Ask your child to help you out with odd chores, it could be painting easter eggs or shopping. After all, isn’t helping out with chores, sharing too?

Come Let’s Learn

Enroll your child at a playschool to boost interaction and the ability to share. Your home environment obviously acts as a base foundation for your child, but the playschool will work in multiple ways, where your kid will learn as well as adjust. Playschools come equipped with a lot of learning material, which promote healthy interactions between your child and other children. You should remember that a child learns as much from doing as he/she does from imitating. A playschool will allow your child to do both, imitate the teacher as well as initiate the action. A playschool in the right sense is a “home away from home.”

A Little Helping, A Little Giving

Have you heard the story of the Stone Soup? Well, what makes this story outstanding is the act of sharing which makes everyone happy in the end. There’s a hymn that aptly fits in here, “A little loving, a little giving, to build a dream for the world we live in….” Children at school learn a lot through stories, rhymes, songs, and most importantly, playtimes. Schools conduct games and activities which boost not only the morale of the child, but also stress on team work. One thing is for sure, the most unexpected things happen and your child whom you feared to be selfish would have now changed, miracles do happen!

One for All – All for One

♦ Mosaic Color: Again the same rule applies, give the supplies to the children and ask them to share and the resultant picture, will be a work of art.
♦ Potluck: What fun to share lunch with everyone else! So many things to eat, all in a day.
♦ Blocks Too Many: Distribute blocks of different shapes and ask the children to solve a puzzle by sharing blocks with each other.
♦ Opposite Poles: Create a stack of positive and negative signs, shuffle and distribute among children, ask them to change cards with the opposite pole and simultaneously share candy with the one who has a negative card.

Children with all their innocence will tend to be over possessive, and at times, it is beneficial for them as well. However, teaching them to share and adjust to people around them is not a daunting task, if you know how to play your cards well. Teaching children to make good choices in life is your responsibility, live wisely and choose well and finally remember to share as well, for every action of yours is being closely monitored by your child.

Yeah not many people understand the strong power of SEO and why it can make or break your companies chances of achieving a strong ROI and all that jazz

That’s why when I first started my business I treid to save money by doing my own small business marketing. I thought I was this hot shot kid who could just spend a weekend reading a whole bunch of seo type articles and just wing it. After a few weeks of low traffic to my site I realized that I did it all wrong. Why spend time doing a service for my company and try to learn it and do a sub par job when I could just hire someone who does it for a living and worry about the other aspects of my business. That’s when I found RevLocal who took over the reigns and delivered the highest quality seo that I could have ever asked for. They where nothing but professional and they understood where I could grow my business and knew the connections and technical abilities needed to get the job done right. They where able to get me from a few hundred visitors a week to over a thousand plus and it didn’t take them much time at all. They did a keyword analysis that would get me to the top of my target market and implemented a sound game plan for achievement.

Optimization

I don’t care what people say, but just doing a plan and not having it be a closed feedback loop is just dumb. If you do not have constant metrics that allow you to continually fine tune your game plan than you are just not being efficient and the seo people are just wasting your money. I keep them honest by checking RevLocal news all of the time and they are just the best.
